The twenty six companies shown below were finalists in the final round of judging of the 2013-14 Ethiopia CIC Proof-of-Concept Competition. They are listed in alphabetical order. Judging for the final round was based on the results of a team of eight judges who evaluated the companies and scored them in the areas of innovation, business viability, and impact on the environment and society. The deliberations were difficult as so many companies had excellent proposals. However, the list was finally narrowed to these eight companies:

African Bamboo PLC
African Bamboo (AB) is building a vertically integrated supply chain for a bamboo based outdoor decking business. Bamboo woven strand board (WSB) products show similar mechanical properties to tropical hardwood products. WSB therefore constitutes a sustainable alternative to tropical hardwood products in international markets such as Europe and North America, thereby reducing the pressure on tropical forests while at the same time giving value to locally available resources that are underutilized. Bamboo growth has a variety of environmental benefits including the following:
- Prevention of soil erosion through its extensive network of rhizomes
- Potential to be grown on degraded and angled land
- Increases ground water levels and improves water retention capacity
- Bamboo absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere
- 1,000 ha of reforestation in Sidama shall sequesters 99,000 CO2e
- Greenhouse Gas abatement potential due to biomass-fired boilers is 12,854 tCO2
- Ethiopian bamboo species emit four times more oxygen when compared to similar timber
- Ethiopian bamboo species are non-invasive
- Ethiopian bamboo rotation cycle of 4-5 years as opposed to hardwood rotation cycle of 50 to 500 years
Alphasol Modular Energy PLC
Miscanthus or Elephant grass which is naturally growing and abundantly available in the western part of Ethiopia, especially in Gambella National Regional State, is a rich biomass resource that is not yet utilized. Currently the existing Miscanthus grass in the region is subjected to yearly widespread wildfires that leave a huge CO2 emission and damage to the flora and fauna of the region without providing any benefit. Hence, the productive use of this resource serves double purposes namely, protecting the eco-system of the region and the replacement of fossil fuels. This untapped resource can be readily harvested and processed into pellets to ensure efficient combustibility, transportation and automatic supply in heating systems of the industries. Compared to unprocessed Miscanthus grass, the compressed pellet is easier in handling and more efficient for burning in automatic heating chambers with energy content of 19 GJ/ton and a density of 600 kg/m³. In practice, the coal that can be used in cement factories has a high calorific value of 3.0 kJ/kg and is not currently available as a local resource. Therefore the Miscanthus pellet that will be used as a co-firing element along with the imported coal has the objective of reducing foreign currency expenditure as well as GHG emission.
The Climate Resilient Green Economy (CRGE) policy of Ethiopia urges implementation of carbon neutral energy until 2025 and encourages cement industry application of affordable clean energy alternatives that meet the aforementioned requirement. Furthermore, the project will create employment opportunity for around 16 skilled and unskilled permanent personnel and up to 100 green jobs during harvesting season.
Atrif Alliterative Energy PLC
The project is an integrated agri-business involving Jatropha plantation and apiculture. The seed from jatropha plantation will be used for the production of bio-fuel and bio-diesel. The apiculture component of the project (apart from the direct benefits of honey harvesting) will augment the pollination of jatropha trees thereby maximizing the seed out puts of the project.The company has carried out the plantation on about 80 hectares of the total 108 hectares it obtained from the regional administration. Part of the land will be used for the apiculture project. Jatropha flowers can serve as feed stock for the bees.
Bio-fuel is oil directly extracted from jatropha seeds and is a source of energy for lighting and cooking- hence replacing kerosene. Bio-diesel is produced by carrying out chemical processes on the crude oil.The outputs of the project-bio fuel and bio diesel-will serve as direct substitutes for the fossil fuels kerosene and diesel which are increasingly downgrading the environment. Bio fuel and bio diesel, on the other hand, have little or no harmful emissions to the environment.
Bio Green Resources PLC
Bio Green Resources PLC (BGRP) will produce “Green Charcoal Briquettes” from biomass waste especially chat residues (i.e., a cash crop) which is available abundantly in and around Dire Dawa City. The green charcoal briquettes offer direct replacements for the fuel wood and charcoal, the two fuels predominantly in use in the country. Ethiopia is highly dependent on woods and charcoal products for its energy consumption (97%), approximately 3.8 million tons of charcoal are produced every year. Charcoal and woods are non-renewable energy sources due to the scarcity of the forest resources, so they are hard to get and costly. However, households lack viable alternatives so they use them nonetheless, contributing to both deforestation and environment degradation. Introducing ‘Green Charcoal Briquette’ to the market as an alternative energy which is clean, affordable and sustainable is an innovative initiative that will not only save the earth from self-degradation but also enhance economic gain to the entrepreneur, investors and the nation at large.BGRP will locate its plant in Dire Dawa, which is the heart of chat production and consumption. Eastern and Western Hararghe alone produce almost half of chat produced in the country. In 2010 nearly 150 million tons of chat was produced (CSA, 2010). The briquettes can also be made from leaves and stalks that remain in the fields after harvesting, saw dust, rice bran, groundnut shells, coffee husk and the like. BGRP will use environmentally friendly and sound manufacturing machinery and once at full capacity, the plant will produce 2400 tons of green charcoal per year. Once operation started, BRGP seeks for CO2 emission reduction finance and proceeds from carbon credits will be passed on to consumers through reduced fuel pricing.
Bio-Energy Technologies is a start-up business intended to promote, manufacture, and distribute improved Solid Biomass Semi-Gasifier Cooking Stoves for household use, particularly in urban and semi-urban areas. The promotion and distribution/diffusion will be done through Women’s & Consumers’ Associations as well as working together with Water and Energy Office and Urban Health Extension Program Office in the City. Our stove is one of the different versions, which are working on the principles of solid biomass gasification like Turbo Stove, JuntosGasifier Stove and Cast Iron Gasifier Stove (technically, they are called "inverted down draft gasifier" stoves, operating on natural convection). It is well known for its high energy efficiency (with 50% fuel use efficiency) reducing households’ fuel wood expenditures, alleviating the persistent problems of fuel wood shortage and above all reducing air pollution exposure implying substantial reduction in impacts of global warming.
Compressed Air Driven Engine Production & Maintenance Service
The proposed business is production of compressed air driven engines and rendering annual maintenance services at a modest local workshop. In contrast to the conventional internal combustion engine system, the new product operates using compressed air as source of power to move the engine parts (pistons, valves, crank shaft, etc.) and eventually rotates any connected machines. The compressed air is to be stored in a cylinder and thereafter will be refilled by a compressor which in turn is powered by the moving engine shaft connected to it
The new solution is envisaged to contribute its fair share in relation to reducing GHG & promoting clean technology as it helps to protect, restore and rejuvenate the environment. Power generation and utilization of these engines have no carbon foot print/gas emission, and heat produced as is common when using fossil fuel powered engines, hence, positively contribute to combat such emissions and reduce adverse effects of climate change.
Eyobed Teklegiorgis Chemicals Factory
EyobedTeklegiorgis Chemicals Factoryhas been engaged in the supply of Nuamin Shoe Polish since august 2012. Nuamin Shoe Polishis made from agricultural products, which are harmless to the end consumer. The formula that is used in order to develop the shoe polish includes agricultural products such as oils extracted from vegetables, trees, fruit, the gums of various kinds of trees, and paraffin. Furthermore, there are about seven formulas which cannotbe mentioned for the purposes of business secret and are directly related to forestry development, horticultural sector, and local small scale industries.
Therefore, the local production of the shoe polish gives a big incentive and creates marvel awareness in the minds of both farmers and customers to care about the forest and locally processed products, in addition to agribusiness as a whole. Purchasing thousands of metric tons of raw materials of the forest and vegetables originating from Ethiopia for the production of shoe polishes manufacturing will create value in diverse sectors, especially agribusiness.
The raw materials used for the production of the shoe polish are sourced from natural resources. Upon implementation, the organization will embody a local institution which is using available natural resources in order to manufacture and supply products which will elongate the life of the shoe and are water proof.
The entrepreneur proposes to develop Air Pollutant Removing Equipment designed to reduce the air pollutants caused by industries, automobiles and common households by filtering and extracting the toxic pollutants from the smoke before it is emitted in the air.The project aims to minimize the toxic chemicals from the harmful smoke emitted from the industries. It reduces toxic waste present in the smoke emitted in their exhausts by about 80%. This purifies the air that is emitted and inhaled by people in the community. It will help save clean environment and combat air pollution. This will then motivate Ethiopian citizens to become more aware about environmental concern and protection. It will also encourage other potential inventors and innovators to participate and get involved with further studies on the development of technology related to the advocacy on environmental protection.
The basic function of this machine is to filter the polluting smoke emitted from the exhausts of the industries by extracting the toxic waste present on the smoke it before it is emitted in the air. This machine does not use any other chemical substance as filtering device therefore, it does not add up in generating pollution and other form of toxic waste. This product is safe and environmentally friendly.
GEM engineering is planning to expand the provision of newly developed and innovative machines and equipment listed below:
New eco-friendly wet coffee pulping machine and modification of previously operating machines, that protect from contamination and pollution of the water supply for human and animal consumption to the downstream rural peoples, aquatic animals and plants as well as keeping the environment clean and green.
Wind driven and manually operated water pump for irrigation and potable water for the rural society to improve their production to achieve millennium development goals through food self-sufficiency, getting potable clean water at easily accessible locations, so that it also reduces the time elapsed for fetching water from far distances.
Manual water bore hole drilling equipment, which assists micro-enterprises to create an employment opportunity (at least 5-10 people for each drilling set), and creates the opportunity for widespread distribution and achieving the millennium development goal targeted to supply potable and irrigable water for all society in a short period with less cost of drilling and supplying.
GM Clean Energy and Fuel Efficient Technology Developer and Disseminator
This PLC is mainly focused on clean energy and environmentally friendly technology which is locally innovated to reduce the GHG emission, fuel consumption, increase economic level of low income rural areas and create job opportunities. The technology has two components, namely Injera Biogas Stove and Composite Mitad.
Injera is staple flat bread of traditional Ethiopian food that everyday eaten by the people. It accounts for over 50% of all energy consumption in Ethiopia, and over 90% of all household energy consumption. Injera biogas stove together with composite Mitad use biogas instead of fuel wood for Injera baking, and thus drastically reduces fuel wood consumption.
The company plans to disseminate Injera biogas stoves together with composite Mitads for 576 biogas users, 576 composite Mitads for non-biogas users who are using fuel wood, and 160composite Mitadsto four large organizations that are baking Injera for commercial purposes during the first year and then will be increased by:50% for the 2ndyear, 60% for the 3rd year, 75% for the 4th year and 95% forthe 5thyear. Also with the same increment and using composite Mitads for households that do not have biogas and use fire wood, and the fourorganizations for the five years, at least 61,763,356.2kg wood will be saved. This when converted into money saved for customers, will be a minimum of 86.5million ETB. And also a minimum of 8,235hectares of forest will be saved from being deforested and burned for Injera baking. Regarding GHG emissions, the company will reduce CO2 emissions by 123,527 tons; CO emissions by12,843 tons; CH4 emissions by 667 tons; and a significant amount of particulate matters.
Gogle Energy Saving Stove
Gogle Energy Saving Stove makes high quality, safe, clean, affordable and environmentally sustainable beehive charcoal briquettes and efficient flex fuel cook stove providing service excellence to please our customers in Addis Ababa, and contributing to CRGE while saving the planet.
The Project has two complementary components: (i) beehive charcoal briquetting from biomass materials that are currently wasted - coffee husk, sawdust and Khat(an amphetamine-like stimulant); and (ii) production and marketing of efficient and flexible fuel cook stove.The main customers are households in Addis Ababa. The vast majority of the city residents use kerosene and charcoal for cooking. The Project targets for sale about 10,000 flex fuel stoves during the initial five years. Women and children will benefit from the utilization of less expensive and more efficient beehive charcoal briquettes in substitution to charcoal and kerosene.
Marast General Mechanics
Marast General Mechanics (MGM), established in 2008, is an Electro-Mechanical Engineering contracting company. Our mission is to become a recognized market leader in providing comprehensive engineering solutions and waste management systems. It is in this view that we are working in the recycling of plastic products.
The largest waste product generated is plastic, which usually ends up in landfills as urban solid waste rather than being recycled. Managing this waste by recycling plastic waste can reduce the use of raw materials and energy in the virgin plastic production process; save trees from cutting for excessive use of scaffolding, wood lumber, tomato and wine seedling support; and reduce greenhouse gas emissions originating from waste plastics combustion. Littering problems arising from waste plastics would also diminish.
MGM intends to produce plastic lumber that can be used for paneling in construction building;electric poles; corrugated sheets in fencing of temporary construction areas;wine and tomato seedling support; and pallets. It totally avoids the use of woods lumbers for these.
Mesk Sun Power
Mesk Sun Power is an enterprise established with a prime objective of empowering rural women through the establishment of a rural solar lantern distribution kiosk and battery charging station for the off grid rural households which enable them to get access to solar energy for lighting and charging cell phone. Further, the project will enable rural women to generate income and improve their living standard.
Currently, these rural households are using kerosene lamps for lighting and the emission of co2 is very high and the introduction of solar lantern replaces the kerosene lamps and in turn reduces the carbon emission which is one of the GHG.
By replacing carbon-emitting products like kerosene lamps with solar power, and reducing the rural society’s dependency on burning wood and fossil fuels, we can reduce toxic and poisonous smoke that negatively affect individual health and able to alleviate global warming.
Using in-vessel composting technology, ReEco-San International will produce compost (organic fertilizer) that will substitute/complement inorganic fertilizer. The business employs a shift in thinking to use “waste” as an input in the production line. Municipal solid waste at the transfer stations in the city of Addis Ababa is a main raw material for the compost production.
About 2,297m3 of solid waste is generated daily in Addis Ababa. Almost 100 % of this daily generated waste is disposed in an open landfill. Such traditional waste management method has adverse socio-economic and environmental impacts, especially when it is 60-70 % organic in composition. Disposal of untreated organic waste in open landfills pollutes air, water and land up on an anaerobic degradation and while emitting a significant amount of the potent greenhouse gas, methane. These social and environmental problems associated with the current waste management will increase in the future without intervention.Converting organic waste to compost using in-vessel aerobic degradation is a sustainable way of minimizing negative externalities, and reducing GHG emission. By safely treating a ton of waste that goes to a landfill, ReEco-San International will cut approximately 0.25 tons of methane. Thus by composting one ton of waste we expect to reduce emissions by up to 5.25 to 6 tons of CO2 equivalent.
The project fits well into the country’s development strategies. Ethiopia set a goal of improving its people’s living condition based on Carbon neutral growth in its Climate-Resilient Green Economy Strategy. Effective waste management like ours contributes to the effort to meet this goal and help mitigation of Climate change through reduction of GHG.
Resurrection Electric Vehicles
The mission of REV is to contribute to Ethiopia’s economy and industrial sector by providing the rural population with a clean, accessible, cost-efficient, ecological way to mechanize farming, assist small and micro enterprises in rural cobblestone road construction, mitigate blackouts, and provide a female-friendly mode of off-road transportation that is healthy for Ethiopia’s balance of trade, through the avoidance of costly fuel imports and a reduction in spare part imports.
One of the largest sources of air and groundwater pollution in any country today is from internal combustion vehicles (ICVs). As Ethiopia’s economy grows, previously pristine farmland must be protected from the sickening environmental degradation rearing its head in Addis Ababa in the form of uncontrolled vehicle emissions and fuel leaks and spills. While the government plans to introduce vehicle emissions inspections, we will help rural farmers bypass them altogether by mechanizing their farms and general transportation using electric multipurpose utility vehicles that run on off-grid solar, wind, and micro hydro as well as Ethiopia’s national grid, with a renewable energy contribution that has increased from 87.3 percent in 2008 to 99 percent in 2011, continuing to commission new hydropower plants since then as well as Sub-Saharan Africa’s largest wind farm in 2013.
RETech Ethiopia PLC
RETech Ethiopia is a newly established business engaged in the production of renewable energy technology. The business mainly focuses on the production and supply of improved stove (micro-gasifier) and briquetting machine.Briquettes are energy sources made by grinding biomass and mixing it with additive then pressing under high pressure in a desired shape. Pressing the mixed substance is essential in order to compress and make the material to produce high energy. The briquetting machine is made from locally available wood (Zegba), plastic or steel made mould to produce various sized and shaped briquettes. A micro-gasifier is a type of improved stove in which the dry biomass (charcoal or briquettes or wood) is transformed into combustible gases in processes distinctly and controllably separate in time and location from the eventual combustion of the gases. Micro-gasifier stoves have the lowest emissions of any solid-fuel cook stoves.
In Ethiopia, the use of fossil fuel is dominant. Besides, the price of kerosene is increasing from time to time. The application/use of these two products will have a huge contribution to the reduction of GHG and increases the availability of improved stoves at a fair price and also increases the production of briquettes. The technology employed in the production of micro-gasifier and briquettes is a clean technology since both apply renewable energy sources without affecting the environment.
S&G Agricultural PLC
Our product is organic fertilizer. Organic coffee farmers can only use organic fertilizer, which is currently not available in the market. These coffee farmers are our main target customers. We will produce and distribute organic fertilizer by using coffee husks, chicken manure and activator containing micro-organisms that speedup the process of decomposing wastes.
The GHG’s emission is reduced by recycling and the efficiency of off-gas cleaning at the composting plant, also by using organic fertilizer instead of chemical fertilizer, which further contributes to a cleaner and healthier soil. Our main customers are coffee farmers, which provide us with 80% of wastes. Coffee farmers benefit by evading wastes, and get a recycled organic fertilizer, all improving the soil structure and clean environment.
Currently, the market does not offer organic fertilizer, only chemical fertilizer, which is imported and distributed by the government at a high price. Our company will mainly engage in business with small-scale farmers, including low-income rural people. It is estimated that there are 1.3 million coffee farmers in Ethiopia, with a household of 6-7 people on average including women. There are 15 million people engaged in the coffee business in Ethiopia. Out of the total number of coffee farmers, 95% are small-scale producers.
Sheger Integrated Aquaculture Farm
Sheger Integrated Farm House is a pioneer in pond aquaculture farming, building sustainable fully integrated organic farming to produce fish based natural fertilizer, duck farming, year round fish, vegetables, fruits, milk, duck meat and eggs for distributors and other SME’s in the supply chain.
By using by-products as an input to the other parts of the system, this will rapidly minimize overgrazing which is the main factor for erosion, soil degradation and ultimately, desertification. Using mineral rich fish manure filled pond water filtration system, as an input to the fruit orchard, fodder trees and vegetable fields, which in return creates reforestation in any type of soil.

Sigma Electric PLC
SIGMA Electric is a Private Limited Company established in 1999. SIGMA is engaged in the electromechanical sector. During our 14 years’ of service we had the opportunity to observe the energy consumption pattern of our industrial and other customers. We noticed that there is immense energy wastage. This is not good for the companies, the country and also for the environment. Therefore we decided to establish an “Energy Efficiency Centre”. The objectives of the Energy Efficiency Centre are:
- Energy efficiency consultancy services - conducting energy audit at our customers’ premises and based on the outcome, recommending ways on how to reduce energy consumption of our customersand implementing and monitoring the recommended solution.
- Energy efficiency training - training electricians on energy efficient installation, maintenance and panel building methodologies and technology.Our program shall also focus on receiving graduate electricians from TVET and training them specifically on the energy efficiency methods and technology.
“Sila” is a commercial name given to fireplaces (cookstoves, baking stoves, and others) thatuse non-carbonized solid biomass fuels by employing the principle of the “Multi-level primary air entry gasifier stove”. Sila Fireplaces manufactures and sells three distinct Sila products:
- Household Sila stove,
- Institutional Sila stove,
- Sila campfire place
The products are fuel saving and have lesser emission by reducing users’ fuel expense and improving health condition of the cooks.Sila fireplaces’ products have the potential to reduce GHG emission due to their high combustion efficiency. Compared to charcoal making and usage, Sila products are capable to reduce the number of trees to be cut by 80% with double effect of reducing CO2 emissionand protect forest to absorb CO2 released by other sources.Primary customers are medium and low income households, Restaurants, Hotels, publicinstitutions like universities, hospitals, prisons and the like that depend on firewood andcharcoal as energy source. Collectively, women beneficiaries of this business will be morethan 80%. The company will create 36 employment opportunities while benefiting 95,000people in the first year and is projected to total of 1,107,320 in a period of five years.
SMS Ceramic Water Filters
Our business is the production and distribution of silver coated Ceramic water filters. Ceramic filters are widely applicable in situations where the drinking water source is bacterially unsafe, which is often the case where people rely on surface water sources or open (hand dug) wells, rivers, or piped water which could be contaminated. Using our technologies accomplishes the following:
- A reduction of waterborne diseases in families that use the filter.
- Reduction in the use of fuel for boiling water and use of chemicals to treat water.
- Reduction in use of plastic bottles by creating a filter in every household.
- Use sawdust from the remains of carpenter shops (one of the inputs to producing the filter)
- 90% of the in-puts are locally available, clay, sawdust, receptacles.
The filters reduce the cost of transportation, doctors’ fees and medication consumption by drinking healthy treated water. Beneficiaries will better understand the importance of potable water in relation to the family's health cycle and will be able to clean and maintain their own filtering element.
Soil and More Ethiopia (SME)
Commercial large scale compost production and selling from the leftover (leafs and stems) of floricultural businesses that would have emitted GHG if left as it’s on the landfill. At the same time providing smallholder farmers with solid humus compost that enhances the structure of soil and hence promote Climate Smart Agriculture. Since the project uses 100% aerobic composting, the GHG emitted will be abated significantly. For this we've registered our project as one of a potential Gold Standard Carbon Credit potential, which will be the first in its kind in Ethiopia.
The customers of this project, smallholder farmers constitute more than 35% women as a member in most of the cooperatives we're intending to work with. As its the case in all over Africa, the major food producers are women and it's no different in our case too. The project is intending to work with as many as 20 to 25,000 smallholder farmers out of which close to 40% will be women for the first three years. These producers in turn will produce healthier and cheaper foods for thousands of consumers in cities and towns. It's the project's core business value to empower women economically through supporting them link their organic vegetables to a niche market that they grow using our compost. Above and beyond, feed their family with healthy and nutrient rich organic food, without risking their vulnerable farming system to unpredictable current climate change. Accordingly, they can adapt to the changing climate condition while mitigating the CO2 emitted due to unsustainable farming.

Gasification is a process that converts organic or fossil based carbonaceous materials into carbon monoxide, hydrogen and carbon dioxide. This is achieved by reacting the material at high temperatures (>700 °C), without combustion, with a controlled amount of oxygen and/or steam. The resulting gas mixture is called syngas (from synthesis gas or synthetic gas) or producer gas and is itself a fuel. The power derived from gasification and combustion of the resultant gas is considered to be a source of renewable energy if the gasified compounds were obtained from biomass, as is in our case since the raw material will be the plant ProsopisJuliflora. This syngas produced from the gasification process is then fed as combustion fuel for specialized generators which convert it into electricity. The technology of the gasification and power generation will be imported from abroad from specialized suppliers. Winsol Green Power Engineering PLC is a start-up company which is established to manufacture and sell green and renewable energy products. These products include: solar heaters based on recycled plastic bottles, small wind and/or solar power systems at household level, and optimized bio gas digesters constructed from low cost bricks and hybrid plastic.
Winsol Green Power Engineering PLC will focus on greening hotel operations. We will stimulate hotels to implement Eco-friendly green systems and, by doing so, save energy and attract tourism.For example, hotels might use our solar water heater for bathing, operating a swimming pool, cooking, using laundry equipment, etc. Also, small multiple wind turbinescan be used to generate electricity for lighting and biogas installations to generate fuel from recycled waste. The concept is to promote sustainable eco-tourism through the development of environmentally friendly products.
Rural and country poor communities could use our affordable recycled plastic bottle collector solar water heater to heat their water for cooking, boiling and bathing and decrease their fuel and wood consumption. This would also improve women's health because it will decrease smog. In addition, low cost small wind turbine could be used in rural communities where there is no electric grid for lighting, helping students and others.

Our product isa Carbon Controller Machine (CCM) producer and installer, providing user and environmental friendly devises that convert pollutant Green House Gases(GHGs) which exhaust from vehicles and factories.This means that the devices convert the exhausted pollutant gases into useful by-products. These output chemicals can be used by industries such as plastic, ceramic and paint factories as input (raw) material.The chemical reaction which takes place within CCM changes the chemical characteristics of those pollutant gasesinto useful mixtures and eases the release of harmless gases (not pollutants) into the atmosphere which in turn lessen the pressure that might have prevailed on the environment.According to a research conducted by our own company, one CCM can sequester as much CO2 as 15-20,000 trees would do, per year.
Apart from the main goal of the proposed machine for controlling vehicle and factories emissions, the work can be further extended to be installed in kitchens to control the smoke emission that affect the health of women in rural areas. In areas where CCM will be installed, the health of women and children will be promoted, their burden reduced, and their work fostered. Generally, CCM will substantially contribute to reducing air pollution, climate change & global warming.
The company’s mission is to reduce the environmental and human health impacts of electronic waste in Ethiopia through recovering and reusing thevaluable materials in electronics waste and creating new job opportunities for the poor is the company plan to collect around 40 tonsof E- waste out of the annual generated 169 tons in Addis Ababa, dismantle, processes and sell around nine tons ofscraps metals, coppers, Aluminums, Bronze in the local market for metal melting industries. It will generate more than 200,000 ETB annually and will export more than 30 tons of printed wireboards, five tons of batteries for international recycling companies and will generate more thanfour million Birr.
